Sgt. Kirill Brodsky

Sgt. Kirill Brodsky, an 18-year-old from Ramat Gan, will forever be remembered as a courageous and selfless individual who made the ultimate sacrifice while defending Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7th, 2023. Tragically, after falling in battle, Kirill's body was kidnapped by Hamas and taken back into Gaza, leaving his family and friends in a state of profound grief and anguish.

Kirill's remarkable character and passions have left a lasting impression on those who knew him. His love for riding bikes not only reflected his adventurous spirit but also highlighted his zest for life.

Kirill's eagerness to help others was an integral part of his identity. Whether it was lending a helping hand to a friend or assisting a stranger in need, he always went above and beyond to make a positive impact.

However, it was Kirill's unwavering devotion to protecting his beloved country, Israel, that truly defined him. As a member of the Command Squad, serving as a brigade commander, he displayed exceptional leadership skills and a deep sense of duty. Kirill's commitment to defending his homeland was unwavering, making him an inspiration to his fellow soldiers and a source of pride for his nation.

During Kirill's funeral, his mother, Ilona, delivered a heart-wrenching eulogy that captured the essence of her son's vibrant spirit. Overwhelmed with grief, she expressed the profound void left by Kirill's absence, emphasizing that his infectious smile and radiant presence would be sorely missed. Ilona also highlighted Kirill's unwavering positivity, as he never complained, even in the face of adversity.

In addition to his mother's touching words, Kirill's commander also paid tribute to his memory. Through tears and a broken heart, she conveyed the devastating loss that the entire unit and military community felt. Kirill's untimely departure had shattered their souls, leaving behind an indescribable pain that could not be healed by any remedy known to mankind.

As days turned into weeks and weeks into months, Kirill's body remained held captive in Gaza, a painful reminder of the unresolved tragedy that had befallen him. His family and friends clung to hope, yearning for the day when Kirill would finally be laid to rest on his homeland's soil, where he rightfully belonged.

Kirill is immortalized by his loving parents, Ilona and Victor, and his sister, Alina. Their hearts are forever burdened with the unimaginable grief of losing a cherished son and sibling. Yet, they find solace in the memories they shared and the knowledge that Kirill's bravery and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
