Gabriel Rivera
Gabriel’s family made Aliyah from Miami, Florida in 2008. He attended YTA highschool where he and David Newman became friends for life. They were roommates until October 7th, 2023. After serving in the Israel Defense Forces as the Company Commander’s right hand in a first-response infantry squad he became a security coordinator for the Israeli government. Before the war, Gabriel managed several restaurants and more recently became a certified diamond grader.

There is not a day that passes without me thinking of him. Every day I learn a new lesson from David. From all the food he would make sure that I ate, the many late night heart-to-hearts and memories that we’ve experienced together. I wouldn’t change a thing. I love you brother.”
